Polar Is Mejerigaarden A/S is a modern enterprise within the food industry with main emphasis on production of ice cream. The company was founded in 1933 and is today the only large-scale 100% Danish manufacturer of ice cream, employing 145 people.
At the headquarter in Thisted we produce all types of ice cream ranging from ice lollies, cones, tubs, ice cream desserts, scoop ice cream to exclusive, festive ice cream desserts and mousses. We also produce organic ice cream and Bravissimo Italian ice cream.
Sophisticated technology, combined with almost 75 years of experience in craftsmanship within the area of ice cream, ensures a high standard and a uniform production of very high quality.
Polar Is has obtained a growth in market share as a result of increasing distribution to the major retailers in Denmark.
Our production amounts to 19 million litres of ice cream per year - the total annual volume for the Danish market is 55.5 million litres.
We are currently expanding our export activitiesand supply to customers in Norway, Finland, Sweden, and other European countries.
